Hong Kong, 19th August, 2004 - Leading locally-listed information technology (ˇ§ITˇ¨) services company Computer And Technologies Holdings Limited ("C&T Holdings", SEHK: 0046), through its subsidiary Computer And Technologies Integration Limited ("C&T") has reinforced its leading position in serving the financial service industry by winning a new contract again from Hai Tong Securities Co., Ltd. (ˇ§Hai Tongˇ¨) to provide infrastructure solution for the construction of a disaster recovery centre project. The strengthened information infrastructure would further improve the business continuity for Hai Tong to provide consistently high and uninterrupted customer services to its clients and maintain its superior position in competitive securities market. The contract, worth close to RMB 8.5 million, is targeted for completion by end of October 2004.
Hai Tong was established in 1998 as one of the first securities firms in China. With registered capital grown to RMB8.734 billion, Hai Tong is now regarded as one of the largest and foremost full-service securities firms in China.
Disaster recovery centre has recently been becoming a crucial part of the business continuity plan of large enterprises. Such an infrastructure typically provides full redundancy to existing information infrastructure of an enterprise, thus eventually make its corporate IT systems available continuously even after occurrence of natural disastrous or serious accidental events such as flood, storm, earthquake and power failure etc.
C&T has a proven track record in implementing large-scale disaster recovery centres for large enterprises in China. The most recent related customer wins include Shanghai E&P International and Shenyin & Wanguo Securities Co., Ltd. Such valuable experience and unparalleled technical expertise have enabled C&T to plan thoroughly for Hai Tong not only in terms of technology but also in their business requirement including security consideration.
Under terms of the contract, C&T will deploy the most advanced Cisco ONS15540 ESPX Gigabit Ethernet Transponder Module which supports the art-of-the-art Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technology, Cisco Catalyst 6500 high-end switches with Firewall Services Module as well as advance Checkpoint firewall solutions to address Hai Tongˇ¦s immediate needs for a reliable, scalable and secured disaster recovery infrastructure solution.
